Iberia Airline

Just read some messages from several years ago on Iberia, and were basically horror stories. Am wondering has anyone flown them in 2002 or 2003? Thanks,Liz

Based on comments from some friends who flew them in 2002, Iberia employees still don't get it!, ie their customer service is still terrible.
If you start your trip with low expectations for service, you won't be disappointed.

Not sure if you already have tickets or if you are flying them internationlly or domestically. However, I'll suggest this anyways...look into flying Spanair. My friend has used them and hasn't had any complaints.

Just flew Heathrow-Seville with Iberia. No problems at all and a very pleasant flight. They served a meal and handed out free newspapers. And believe me, after years of flying Easyjet that made a difference!

Lisasnv, I have flown Iberia round trip from JFK to Spain twice. All 4 flights were fine.

I came across the same negative posts after my first round trip flight and before the second. Those posts almost deterred me from flying Iberia again. I am glad that they didn't since I had a positive experience at a very good fare.

I am sure that some people have had less than positive experiences with Iberia. No airline is without faults. But this is just my personal experience.

Hope this helps.

I flew Iberia from San Diego to Madrid last October (San Diego to Chicago on American as they co-share). Flight left and arrived on time, the food was better than than on domestic airlines, the service was pleasant and my only complaint was that they would not allow my 20" pilot case on board on my return from Madrid. I saw other passengers who were permitted to carry similar cases on board which annoyed me to no end. But I decided to keep my cool and let it go. They offered the most competitive price and I would fly them again.

We flew Iberia within Spain (Madrid to Barcelona)recently and the flight went off without a hitch. Service was fine on this short (hour) flight and certainly no less acceptable than anything comparable we've recently experienced in the US.

I too just flew Iberia twice. First was a one-hour from Madrid to Alicante, second was longer Sevilla to LHR. Both flights were quite enjoyable. The crew was extremely accommodating and helpful. We were unable to obtain seats until check-in, but they managed to move people around to keep my family together. I have no complaints.
