Ian McKellen & Patrick Stewart in No Man's Land

Just a heads up. Limited run at the Wyndham's Sept 10-Dec 17. The tickets are going fast . . . I just booked for my birthday in Dec . . . which means I need to book a trip . . . :)

The production is touring through Sheffield, Newcastle, Brighton and Cardiff in August before hitting London.

Follow up to their version of Waiting For Godot?

PalenQ Jul 27th, 2016 10:00 AM

thanks for the update! Nice to be able to book a trip to London just to see a show - I envy you!

Cheers!

Ugh, we'll just miss them... not arriving until the 19th. It would have been so cool to see them.

Not a 'follow up' exactly . . . They did the two plays together in repertory on Broadway. Only doing No Man's Land this go round.

dotheboyshall Jul 27th, 2016 10:41 AM

They only toured Waiting for Godot in the UK.

Good move, janisj. We saw them in this play a couple of years ago at the Berkeley Rep, definitely worth seeing.

Oh, janis, I am so glad you will be able to attend. Thanks for the heads-up on this, although I don't think a London trip is in the cards for us anytime soon. I've been offline (out of town, family stuff) for some weeks so am just getting caught up, and appreciate the notice. I do hope you have a great trip (and a happy birthday!) and will come back and let us know about this show. Or if anyone else attends or get tickets, please do speak up. I know I'm biased but feel we can always use more London theatre discussion!

Thanks again, janis.

Dukey1 Jul 28th, 2016 10:13 AM

Well, KyraS, any time you want to discuss the West End stuff we just saw a couple of weeks ago start a thread.

janisj Sep 20th, 2016 03:51 PM

The reviews are just out . . . *****

I am sooooo glad I managed to get tix

Well I've been Waiting for Godot here for what seems like infinity!

I got a heads up about this this week Janis!! It was listed as one of the top 5 openings on a site called Just Opened London. I may be in London for a few days in early December...but will have to wait and see...looks great, enjoy! Check out Kitty Fishers in Shepherds Market...great spot for lunch, or dinner if you can get a table

Never one to miss an opportunity to name drop - I've shared a stage on more than one occasion with Patrick Stewart.

janisj Sep 24th, 2016 08:40 AM

Wow (!)-- performing or as a compère or something?

stevelyon Sep 24th, 2016 09:08 AM

Nowt glamorous .... Just watching with other academics whilst graduates came on stage for their degrees which he handed out. Funny thing is he never boasts that he has shared a stage with me.
