Will it bee too hot for jeans? Are flip flops acceptable? How about heat resistant ones made from silicone? Will I need an adapter for my hairdryer plug? Should I take a taxi or the metro or is there a shuttle? Should I make advance reservations or go sans reservations? Everyone speaks English, right? Because everyone knows the French all speak English they just act like they don't until you attempt to speak some bad French. What is the specialty of the house? Fondue or something flambe? And what is the drink of choice? Flaming shots?

Should I get travel insurance? It is so expensive, but just in case the doctors work a 15 minute miracle, I may need trip cancellation or trip interuption benefits.

What is the best month to go, weather-wise?

So many questions, so little time - oh the Hell with it, I'm going to Paris instead.

annw, I think regarding the shoe question, unless one knows "for sure" what their final destination is I would suggest packing firefighters boots (flame resistance you know), wear those on the plane as they would take up so much room in ones luggage and than pack a heavenly pair of gold high heeled sandals..just in case one gets to walk around on clouds. Which ever pair of footwear isn't needed one could just toss them in the wastepaper basket at ones accomdations for the housekeeping staff I guess.

LoveItaly, you jest, but I honestly know someone who flew to Italy in his fire-retardant race car suit - complete with helmet for take-off and landing. I dare not tell you what he does for a living (racing cars is a hobby)!
