I waited too long - Paris hotel needed on short notice - help!
Finally, after agonizing over where to travel this year, I have finalized our plans for this September. We have three nights in Amsterdam at the Maes B&B, two nights in Brugge at the Kwalito B&B and the last five nights in Paris...but, I am having trouble with Paris hotel availability. Most everywhere I have tried is full! Does anyone have suggestions - would like to be in the 5th or 6th and *require* air conditioning.
Looking for suggestions! Thanks again! PS I even arranged to have Michael Osman as a tour guide for two days in Paris. He answered my emails *immediately*.... |
?budget??

Did you use venere.com or parisby.com? You can plug in your dates and they will give you a list of available hotels.
|
..whoops pressed the button too soon. Try Venere.com after crossreferencing on tripadvisor or here.
|
Duh - budget, sorry .... I have been around here long enought to know I should have included that!
I would like to spend Euro 150.00 per night, or less! |
what dates will you be there?
|
Try http://www.hotelclub.net/SearchResults.asp?id=115
I got a great deal on the La Bourdonnais Hotel Paris which has AC |
Dates: Sept 17-18-19-20-21
|
cambe, not to hijack, but how was your experience booking with hotelclub.net? Everything in order? I am considering them myself, but not for Paris at this time.
|
I'm not sure if the dates will be showing on their website yet. But try www.laterooms.com

Margie,
I will be able to tell you better in September after I return but I booked a triple room with them which was 30E per night less than the Hotel's web site and included breakfast. They sent me the voucher the next day. Disadvantage is that you have to pay up front but September is a very busy time in Paris and I was worried that we would't get accommodation. They send you lots of spam after you book which I just delete. Hope this helps |
Also look at

hi
Twice we have stayed at Hotel Brescia located on the quiet Rue d'Edimbourgh, close to Gare St Lazare and with a metro station about 3 minutes from the hotel. Its rate for a twin/double is within your budget. A small hotel, nice staff, clean and with a pretty garden at the rear of the property where breakfast can be taken. There are two reviews on tripadvisor, both positive. I can't find a website for the hotel (we booked through a travel agent) but rooms seem to be available on many accommodation websites for the city. Here's an address with good photos that might help: http://www.parischarminghotels.net/b...s_in_paris.htm Joe |
Both the Hotel Duquesne Eiffel and the Hotel La Bourdonnais have rooms available, and are only a bit over my budget. Thanks for the suggestiosn. Both grade out pretty well at Tripadvisor. I am inclined toward the Hotel La Bourdonnais because it is a bit closer to the Eiffel Tower.
Can anyone elaborate on how the area is? I had studied the 5th and 6th a bit, but don't know much about the 7th other than I see the Rue Cler is nearby. Thanks in advance. |
I don't know if you have tried myhotelinparis.com, but it might give some additional ideas. You are going to love Michael. That was very smart to book him, he will only enhance your experience in Paris! You will also like Maes in Amsterdam. Vlad and Ken were so kind to us. Just remember you have to walk up some very steep stairs to get to your room. They do a great continental breakfast. I would offer suggestions for our hotel in Paris, but it had no AC. Have a wonderful time!

I was just looking for a last-minute room for Montreal, so tried some of these ideas (not getting anywhere for my search). But that laterooms site had lots of decent hotels in Paris for those dates, which surprised me. I don't think there were that many in the 5th-6th, but there were a couple and I didn't expect any. that is a very busy time in Paris, that's the problem.
They did have Hotel Claude Bernard in the 5th available for those dates, and both the Duquesne Eiffel and Tourville in the 7th for those rates. I know you want 5-6, but I think those would both be acceptable to me. They also had the Trocadero La Tour in Passy (16th) which I would accept, also. That's not a lot that had all those dates available in your price range (that I think have AC), but they are good hotels. I'd also accept the Royal on there in Montparnasse, but you probably don't want that area. |
I only learned today that sidestep.com can help for hotels. Not so friendly to use... to find what you want (specific location) at a specific price range... but it did come up with a better deal on a room in Los Angeles for my wife, on short notice than anything I knew to try - - including priceline.
Fopr your dats, it lists 195 hotels - - 101 of them in the price range $101 to 201 (USD). Best wishes, Rex |
re dwz..This area is very nice..very BCBG. A bit quieter than the 6th. very convenient to the metro..near the Orsay. Not far from rue du Bac..

This site shows a hotel in the heart of the 6th having availablity on your dates for 177/double room. The Hotel is Hotel Agora Saint Germain and it looks cute.

Great responses and resources that I had not used yet - thanks!
ChicagoLori: That is a cute hotel, a bit more than I wanted to pay, but looks great. |
