Sadly for me, I’ve had to cancel two 2008 trips to the UK. But my loss may be your gain! I pre-purchased two adult admissions to the exhibit Hadrian: Empire and Conflict for 11:20 on August 25, 2008, and I am happy to give them to an interested Fodorite.
If you will be in London at this time – either a resident or a visitor - and would like my tickets, please post here with your email address and I’ll send the order number and the collection code. I think that this will get you admitted to the exhibit – you may have to explain that the tickets were a gift.
I emailed customer service at the British Museum several weeks ago to ask how to give these tickets as a gift, but received no reply. I’m not particularly keen to make an international phone call to resolve this (already spent enough for the tickets!), but can provide the appropriate phone number if you’d like to inquire about the procedure. I’d be willing to write a note confirming the gift.
Here’s a link to the British Museum’s site if you want to view a preview of the exhibit:

Topping again in the hopes that someone can use these tickets.
Thanks, yk, for the top and the good wishes. We are fine, but have had some changes in our plans and those of our daughter. I think I will take another trip abroad in 2008, but nothing is set at the moment.

Ordinarily I'd love them: I've not got round to booking this and the head of publicity building up around this exhibition is likely to mean those tix are going to be rarer than hen's teeth.
That day doesn't work for me. But for anyone browsing: this is looking like a really, really interesting show. Fill your boots now: the touts are going to be outside charging a fortune that day, which is Late August Bank Holiday,

Yes please!

I'll make a donation of the cost of the tickets to a charity of your choice (unless it involves cats).

They are yours, Cholmondley - I'll forward the info to your email address. I'm delighted to give them to a long-time forum participant from London! I really appreciate your offer to make a charitable contribution, and will work out the details with you via email. No worries, I'm a dog person, myself!
Sorry it didn't work for you, flanneruk. I first heard of the exhibition from Fodor's, and I'm thinking it was one of your posts?
Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. My husband and I are very interesting in returning to the UK - we're planning a June 2009 trip to the Scottish Isles. And I hope for at least a quick London visit in the next year as well.
