We were told by the Democratic congress (especially Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) in 2001 that "You can't professionalize unless you federalize" the baggage screeners at TSA.

The people here may not be screeners, but federalizing doesn't make people or the organization any smarter. ((*))

Including former Texas governors but it can sure make them a lot more imperious and a hell of a lot richer.
