Agadir. Spent 1 week in Marrakesh, Fez and the Atlas Mountains which was lovely. Decided to spend 4 days at a beach resort - BIG MISTAKE.

Agadir was distroyed by an earthquake in the 60's and has been rebuilt as package holiday resort with neither heart nor soul.

Lots of French, German, British and Irish louts.

Turned out to be my only 'Holiday from Hell' and I have been travelling for the past 30 years.

Punta del Este in Uruguay is a wildly overrated and overpriced resort, with icy water, loud Argentinian tourists and tacky stores and restaurants. I was stuck there for four or five nights and could only count the hours that would bring me back to Buenos Aires (with the same loud Argentinians, but so charming on their own turf! )

Nassau: Spent five days there..two was more than sufficient and had an unending delay at the most wretched airport. If I could have walked on water, I would have done so to get home.

Frankfurt seems to have a special curse on it. I used to fly through there on the el-cheapo airlines when I was traveling on a shoestring in college. Every time, something weird happened--like I stayed in a youth hostel room with someone who smelled like she was dead and rotted, and once a little boy rode in circles around me on his bike trying to spit on me. That's about the time you're rolling your eyes, wondering why you didn't stay home.

Oh my god, the worst place we stayed too long was Magaluf, Majorca Spain. We were in England visiting my in-laws and wanted a sun break so did a package to this hell hole for 7, count em' 7 nights! We arrived and the hotel was cinderblock prison cell with screaming kids everywhere. Went to the reception checked in and went to the bar, if you could call it that for a drink and asked a couple of people where was a good authentic spanish restaurat, you know, like what its famous for, Roast Suckling Pig??? The response was a vacant look and then "I don't know where those places are but "Sally's Chicken and Chips is just down the road and there's great fish and chips as well. We went for a walk and all the bars were named after British sayings or people. Sue's Cockney Kitchen, "we do the best beans on toast" Yikes, Peter Sellers Bar, Benny HIll Bar. It was frightful, and after getting back from the beach with a hideous sunburn we got to the listen to the man in the next room beating his wife....that night we went to one of the bars and the Spanish bartenders where sticking plastic trumpets in peoples mouths and flower necklaces around people and playing the hokie cokie. My husband said I have never been so embarassed to be English! Hee!

It is getting old...but VEGAS. DH and I got a "deal" to stay 4 nights and 5 days. It was the longest vacation of my life. It seemed 10x longer than a "short" 17 days in the Greek Isles.

In Europe, I have to say the small town in Andorra where I spent two forgettable days wishing I was back in Spain or France, instead of stuck between them.

I come from a long line of slow travelers and the only time I regretted spending too much time was when I was in Athens for 10 days on a school trip and stayed on for another 4 days with my brother, sister, and sister-in-law. Fourteen days in Athens was far too much - two or three days would have sufficed. Fortunately, we then moved onto Mykonos, Rhodes, Kos, and several spots in Turkey - all of which we stayed on/in for about four days per location.

Copenhagen. A friend and I planned about a week there to really get a feel for the city. But after 3 or 4 days, we ran out of things to do (including taking the Ferry over to Malmo, Sweden).

This was over 35 years ago, so maybe there's more to do now (and perhaps we weren't very skilled travelers back then).

Mine is 3 days in Rotorua, New Zealand. Went to the spa, visited the thermal park, got my hair cut, bought some shoes, checked my email, um...

I've spent too much time on these boards some nights ... thinking about where I've been or want to go.

Want to go ... want to go ... WANT TO GO!!!

A day in Monaco was too much for me. Couldn't wait to leave.

My DH would say Nitra, Slovakia.
In fact ANY time spent there is too long according to him -- he had no choice as the college trip was honoring the fact that Nitra is our sister city.
If you ever meet my husband ask him about the Cuisinart demonstration there!

How can anyone get tired of Morecambe? There are some brilliant side trips to the Lake District, Heysham, Sunderland Point, Grange-over-sands, Arnside, and lots more besides.

Definitely agree with Key West. Six days -- about four too long.

Nice -- one day would have been good.

Monaco -- a few hours was too long.

I have to agree with Florence. It was pleasant enough (we were there in March last year) but we were just bored. It was very crowded and we aren't huge fans of renaissance art. After about two days we had more than our fill, and we still had two days to go. We just ended up taking a daytrip to Siena, which we loved.
