I POD recharge

Has anyone tried to recharge their Ipod using a converter? My 14 year old niece just bought an Ipod and has the ac recharger and was hoping the converter she bought to take to Paris will work to recharge her Ipod. I'm afraid she'll fry the whole thing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The white cube-like powersupply can take voltage from 110-240v, so no problem using it in Europe.

The plug will be a problem. So your niece can simply bring a plug adapter, or if she can buy the "international adapter kit" from Apple which comes with a nice set of plugs that replace the N. American one that's attached to the power supply. It's like $35 - very expensive, but very elegant.

You may not need to purchase a plug adapter. I had no problems charging my iPod in a hotel outlet. Of course, the outlet was one of the ones that accept different plugs. I don't know if all hotels have those.

Thanks for the quick replies. She does have the international adapter kit.

In France, the wall socket has two holes and one protruding ground. Definitely won't take the US-type plug.

Some hotels have N. American type sockets in the bathroom. So that's one possibility. Or the front desk may have an adapter that you can borrow.

"She does have the international adapter kit."

That worked for me in Italy.

The international adapter kit worked just fine for me in Paris.

Have used the international adapter kit in several countries in continental Europe and the UK. No problem.
