I need some honeymoon destination help, please!!

Hello all,
For the past couple of weeks I have been reading the Fodor's forum to try to come up with a honeymoon destination somewhere in Europe. My fiance and I have been blessed to be able to have traveled to pretty much all the major spots in Europe with the exception of Spain, so we have kind of been looking for some "off the beaten path locations". We are getting married August 5 and plan to leave the states August 6 or 7 and come back August 14 or 15. When we get wherever we are going we were going to stay in a nice hotel the first night or two then stay in an apartment or a cheaper hotel the rest of the time (we would rather spend money on food, museums, markets, etc.). The places we have thought about are the following: Croatia, Morocco, the Canary Islands, Spain/Menorca, and Malta.

We are slightly leaning towards Croatia, but are not sure. What we are looking for in the honeymoon is a place that has beaches we can relax on, but also a place where we can go visit ruins/museums/markets, etc. We are looking for a place that has other things to do rather than sit on the beach for seven straight days. We hope to relax for a couple days then head out on an adventure. Please help! I read all your posts and I am amazed at some of the trips that all of you have taken, so if you have a suggestion/comment we are all ears. Thanks for your help.

Hi J,

Copenhagen, it has beaches, and is not so hot in august.

Venice and the Alpine region or the Lakes

The Amalfi Coast and Naples

Croatia is becoming quite a popular travel destination. You could split your time between Venice and Croatia fairly easily.
