Fodor's Travel Talk Forums - I need help finding cottages in the Cotswolds

If you do a search on Google putting in: +"self catering" +Cotswolds, or +a specific town in the Cotswolds, you'll get a lot of options. "Self catering" is what the Brits call cottage rental.

We've used: www.cottageinthecountry.co.uk
for past rentals and found them quite helpful and have also booked directly with owners. One we really liked was in Chipping Campden which was a perfect, central place to be and it was called Honey Pot Cottage run by Mrs. Brooks next door who is very helpful. It's perfectly located right in the middle of town, just off main street and has a lovely four poster bed in the bedroom. It's only good for 1 or 2 people though. Another cottage we booked in Chipping Campden was Thatched Cottage at: www.ukcottages.co.uk/110.html
Lovely, lovely place with the most romantic master bedroom ever. Good for two with a child (there's a double bed just outside the master bedroom).

Bourton in the Water is also a good location, particularly if you plan to tour around during the day and return there in the evening. The place can be quite mad during the day but in the evening it is quite calm. I can't find the website for the cottage we rented there but it was right on main street and had a double and a twin bedroom, one bath, and a conservatory out back.

We also stayed in Moreton in Marsh at a place owned by Joy Scarsbrook. Near the middle of town but very quiet and away from the crowds. Joy and her husband are very helpful and welcoming. The place is separate from their house but in the grounds, with a double and twin bedroom, large living room and compact kitchen. I'll look for their contact info, can't find it easily on the Internet.

We've also rented in Sibford Gower, just west of Banbury but altough the cottage was lovely and the village perfect, it was a bit isolated - which in the Cotswolds means you have to drive on a bunch of little roads to get there.

We've also stayed in a town called Mollington, north of Banbury. But the owners sold the cottage.

One place we haven't stayed yet, but have visited often and would love to get a cottage there next time is Great Tew. Like an English village off of one of those old chocolate boxes.
