I need a good hotel in Paris
My husband and I are planning a quick but much needed trip to Paris in March 2007. I have been scouring Trip Advisor for hotel recs, but am a bit overwhelmed. We want to stay on the Left Bank, in the 6th or 7th, and a good night's sleep is important, so the rooms must be quiet and the bed reasonably good. We are hoping to spend no more than $225 US/night. Any suggestions?

Hi F,
We always stay at the Hotel Bonaparte, 61 Rue Bonaparte in the 6th. From 124E dbl w/bkfst. It is located near 3 metro stops. Has AC Tel 33 1 43 26 97 37 FAX 33 1 46 33 57 67 www.hotelbonaparte.fr For more info, enter "Hotel Bonaparte" in the "search this forum" box. Photos are at http://tinyurl.com/ludgd ((I)) |
My very favorite is Hotel Pas de Calais, 59 rue des Saints-Peres. It's in the 6th, right on the border of the 7th and a chort block off the Boulevard St. Germain. Handy to the St. Germain and Sevres-Babylone metro stops, the Bon Marche department store, and several good and not too pricey restaurants.
Here's their website: http://www.hotelpasdecalais.com/ The place is spotless and the staff are wonderful...English is spoken if your French isn't great. They're very helpful. Bon voyage! Stephanie |
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel de Varenne in the 7th. I could hear the phone ringing in the next room but never heard any voices. We were very pleased with the location, rate and room. www.varenne-hotel-paris.com

I concur with the Hotel Bonaparte recommendation.
