"My World, Welcome to It"

"I'm going out for milk, be back in a bit"

KayF Feb 13th, 2012 12:43 AM

"Adventures with my back, backpack and chiropractor"

This is from my husband who can no longer happily carry a heavy backpack. I think he's envious.

The suspense is building, what is it to be Shrink?

Shrink Feb 15th, 2012 03:16 PM

Hi All

I have decided and frankly I am quite proud of it. I opted for "When I Am Old I shall Wear a Backpack". I have pasted the attribution out of the book here:

The title for the book was inspired by a poem written by Jenny Joseph. The poem idea was provided to me by a friend on Fodors known only as MissPrism. My heartfelt thanks go out to her and all my Fodors friends who pointed me in this direction. For what its worth, Ms. Joseph is the UK's foremost living poet. She was born in 1932 and first published "The Purple Poem" in 1961. The second line of the poem supposedly inspired the formation of America's Red Hat Society, the largest women's social group in the world with membership in excess of 70,000. I guess everyone has their own bucket list. Hers deserves to be printed here.

I followed the above paragraph with her poem. If you haven't read it, google it. It was perfect. Again Thanks MissPrism and all of you who helped me with this. As soon as I write some pithy little paragraph for the back flap on the cover I will send it in for publishing.

Thanks Again

Hi Shrink - that is perfect! You should be VERY proud of yourself. Well done on an amazing achievement, in more ways than one.

Congratulations and keep traveling.

I would love to buy your book when it is published. Please come back and post about your publishing details.

Shrink Feb 15th, 2012 09:23 PM

I will definitely let you know how the publishing thing goes. This will be one in a row for me so I am a rank novice at this.
Blurb recommends that you only buy one book initially to see the actual product. Sometimes there are mistakes that aren't obvious on a computer screen. It makes a lot of sense to me to do that. Will let you know how it goes and again thank you for all your interest and help.
