Lynn: Wonderful trip report & photos! It looks like you had a blast.
Plans for last year's trip to London & Paris were cancelled, last minute, due to a personal emergency, however, we're just beginning to reschedule it for this May. I CAN'T WAIT! Reading your report & seeing your photos really brought me so much excitement and insipration.
Seeing that you left out of SFO made me interested in your experiences, however when you said you are from Sacramento... well... we live in Auburn (just up the hill from you!), I was tickled. I, too, am considering being alone in London for at least a few days, and even spending time alone (during the days) while my husband and I are there together (he's not much into shopping... silly guy!). Anyhow, it was comforting to hear how safe you felt alone.(Did I mention I CAN'T WAIT?!)
By the way, obviously, you're an artist, considering the eye you have for creative shots with your camera. However, the clarity of the photos was awesome, too. What camera did you use? I saw you holding a Minolta in one of your loo shots, I believe, was that your main digital?
I'll just toss this out there - We'd love to hear more about your trip. If you're interested in getting together in Sac, or somewhere, we'd love to buy you a drink & talk more about your trip. Just say the word.
Thanks so much for your posting!

LYB, My favorite thing I remember about London is the recorded message in the Tube telling me to "Mind the Gap" I wish I had a recording of that and the wonderful British accents they have. I think this really is my favorite place now. I hope to return next May!

Oh, I love your enthusiasm, lyb! So glad u had a good time in the capital city of my home country. Haven't been there for a while but your trip report made me realise what a fabulous place it is if you want to just get out there and "do it".
Happy travels, always!
