lent, the Fashion Consultant and I have an ongoing debate as to whether shoes are even worth the bother. That little black strapy thing she talks about isn't useful at all, doesn't protect the feet and is a mere ornament. Practice going shoeless at home, including long outdoor walks, and see if this doesn't toughen up your soles. By the end of the day, soft slippers will feel like heaven.

To Shoeless:
What color toenail polish should I use so that I don't look like a tourist?

To Lent
Do not listento shoeless, i.e. going barefoot to toughen up your feet!
I love barefoot, but since I have the same foot problem you do (plus neuromas in my metatarsal areas)I know that barefoot does not help, or make your feet better.
I hope you are able to get relief from your MD, I have not had such luck.
As to nailpolish, I am not up to date fashion wise, but I bet pastels would definately be a no-no for the fashion police.
How about black?
It was all the rage a few years ago with my children's babysitter and her friends!
Nancy

lent, by now you've figured out that Fashion Consultant and Barefoot work for me and are employed at my retail shoe outlet. If their suggestions do not mollify you, I would suggest a long vacation on the Isle of Shoals, owned by a Podiatrist colleague of mine. We have spent many pleasant hours here soaking our feet in the sandy bottom. The entire day is spent refreshing ourselves. I guess you could say that here, we treat the wholeperson, so that feet are never left out, feeling as if they need extra attention at the end of the day.

The NNA sponsored a drawing for a trip here for new members, a pity you hadn't registered there. As it turns out, Brian from Atlanta won. The irony. Someone with a name making off with the prize.

God Bless,
Betty

While I'm very pleased to have won a drawing that I didn't really qualify to enter, I'm afraid that I must decline the prize.

I must stick with my boycott of the Island of Shoals due to its government's continued rejection of family values (unisex foot soaking is protected by statute). Plus I hear that there are no ATMs there.
