Your name was on my list. Are you on the Cape for most of the summer?

Nikki Apr 22nd, 2009 08:05 AM

There and back again. We may go away for a week or two in July. The rest of the time it's back and forth, depending on schedules.

AGM_Cape_Cod Apr 22nd, 2009 08:13 AM

Well, we will see what we can arrange with everyone's schedules. Two crucial points to work around when Traviata is on the Cape and I am going to London for work the last week in July. So somehow around those we will manage.

Traviata Apr 22nd, 2009 10:38 AM

Hi Abby,

We will try to work around whatever date you all choose...for us, the best time would be the last week of June, starting from June 22, which is when we arrive. After that, though we are there for two more weeks, all the family comes and it gets harder.

AGM_Cape_Cod Apr 23rd, 2009 07:36 AM

Traviata, would the last weekend (June 27 or 28th) work for you?

How about anyone else?

Mimi, we will get you and Pastis to the Cape, don't worry.

julia1 Apr 23rd, 2009 08:59 AM

Bookmarking to read through when I have more time. Thanks so much for all the detail.

Traviata Apr 23rd, 2009 10:19 AM

Hi Abby,

Yes, last week would work, (Saturday, the 27th better than Sunday the 28th), during the week okay too, however we'd like to stay as far away from the 4th weekend as possible... I'm sure you know what traffic is like then...looking forward to a GTG already!

AGM_Cape_Cod Apr 23rd, 2009 12:19 PM

Traviata, that sounds good to me. I will check around and let you know the details.

Thanks, Julia1. It is hard to know how much detail to put in.

Nikki Apr 23rd, 2009 07:29 PM

June 28 works for me, but not June 27.

Traviata Apr 24th, 2009 04:39 AM

Abby and Nikki...we just found out Saturday, 27th works for us, but not Sunday, 28th...now comes the hard part...trying to find a date that works for everyone!

AGM-
i love your trip report!

i have itineraires, l'ami jean, and petit pontoise on my list for this summer.

i also loved your market descriptions.

i do have a question...
how do you know which markets are open on which days? is there a website that lists their days/hours/ locations?
we won't be in Paris on a sunday, and it seems there are a lot of great markets on sundays!

AGM_Cape_Cod Apr 24th, 2009 06:09 AM

Hi, dina4 I have two sources for market information- a website http://www.v1.paris.fr/EN/Living/markets/markets.ASP and a book Markets of Paris by Dixon and Ruthanne Long. Let us know what you find.

Nikki, Traviata I guess June 27th wins out by virtue of distance traveled.

dina4 Apr 24th, 2009 02:20 PM

Thank you SO much!! that is EXACTLY what i've been looking for!!

Nikki Apr 24th, 2009 02:25 PM

I'll be thinking of you as I play in my band concert.

AGM_Cape_Cod Apr 24th, 2009 02:43 PM

Nikki, we will be thinking of you as well. The good news is that there are other opportunities for you to join us for a GTG on the Cape. Let's make it happen. BTW what instrument do you play?

Nikki Apr 24th, 2009 05:44 PM

Flute and piccolo.

Yes, I've been thinking about hosting a get-together for some time.
