I-Dine Mileage Bonus
 

Recently there were several threads about the I-Dine program and many were surprised to hear about it. Mine is registered through AA.com for FF miles, but there are other versions as well. Normally you get 10 miles for every dollar you charge on any registered credit card at a huge number of restaurants. I've racked up thousands of points (AA miles) this way. Do a search here for I-Dine and you can get lots of other information and pointers.

Yesterday I got an email that the next three restaurant charges will earn 20 miles per dollar spent. This offer is good until the end of March. So let's assume (easy assumption) that I use my card to buy three meals for two at $100 (that includes tax and tip). I'll earn an automatic 6000 bonus miles. Actually that's 6300 miles, considering the mile per dollar I also get for charging on my Citibank AAdvantage card. Now if I use my card when a group of maybe 6 of us go out, and the others pay me back in cash while I charge -- I could get maybe that many miles charging just one meal! Do that three times and I could be earning up to 20,000 miles in the next month.

For those who ask how to get a lot of miles, here's a great way to do it.

Incidentally, I've ordered just over $200 worth of flowers through my AA linked FTD in the past week and have earned just over 3000 miles that way, including the bonuses.

I didn't get an email like that and couldn't find that special 20 mile offer on idine's site. Is that a general thing, or did they just send it out to some members? Any info you have would be much appreciated, as usual.

Hmmm. Just checked my deleted email and see it came from AAdvantage Dining (the American Airlines branch of I-Dine). It is also listed on mileage specials on AA.com. This may be only available to American I-Dine customers. Both notices require you to register for this special promotion to get your miles.

I'm with you on IDine. Priority Cub has IDine, British Airways has IDine, and American. I am using my Priority Club points for an upcoming trip to England. Free hotels for 5 nights. I use my Priority Club number for FTD at work and rack up points that way too. Appied for the Priority Club Visa and received 10,000 points. I have the option to earn miles or points and right now I'm going for points. I think the IDine program is great. And I love Priority Club. Especially with the GB pounds exchange rate right now. My airfare was quite inexpensive compared with the cost of hotels. I'm saving much more on the hotels.
