I could really use some help with a Turkey question or two. Please!
Attention all Turkey experts.
Will the weather be miserable in the last half of October? I realize the Fall rains start moving in at this time. I'm ready to pull the trigger on four airline tickets and could really use some words of wisdom from those in the know. My Mom really has trouble if the temperature falls below 5C or so. We will have 11 full days to split between Istanbul, Cappadocia and touring the Ephesus/Pammaluke area. Many thanks! the turnip |
According to weather.com the average temp in Istanbul for October is a high of 19c and a low of 12c.

I'm no expert, but you can get real historical weather data at sites like http://www.wunderground.com
I assume Cappadocia could be quite cold but may be above your threshhold. |
Since you direct your question to a Turkey expert, here is the answers of a Turkey expert (a Turk living in Turkey as well.
The weather will be fine (mostly sunny during the days with a slim or no chance of rain with temperatures around 20-25 degrees centigrade and quite cool at nights -around 10-12 degrees C.)in Istanbul, Ephesus and Pamukkale and a bit chilly at nights(around 5-6 degrees C. in Cappadocia) All these temperatures and weather conditions are ideal for sightseeing and taking long walks. Enjoy your stay. With all good wishes. |
