Beside VHS, your daughter might think about looking for a German partner to learn together German/English. Quite often students are interested in such tandem arangements.

I wish her all the best for her stay. I think Wiesbaden is a very convenient location to go on exploring Germany and the rest of Europe.

Hi Hans,

I'm sure she will have made a ton of friends in a very short period of time. That is just her. Regardless of the location, city, country, lack of language skills, she always finds people with similar interests. She loves learning about other cultures, religions (or lack thereof), foods, political ideals. That is one thing I was actually able to teach her, learn the people first, never be ethnocentric.

She told me yesterday she has already been doing the free Rosetta Stone for German so she will have a very basic understanding of the language when she arrives. She is also fluent in French and speaks a fair amount of Spanish and Italian, as well as a smidgen of Japanese.
