hydrofoil to and from naples/capri/sorrento

I will be going on a mediterranean cruise and one of the ports that we will visit is Naples Italy. Can anyone with experience tell me how long it takes to get to Capri from Naples.... from Capri to Sorrento... and from Sorrento back to Naples. I especially would like to know if someone has taken the hydrofoil from Sorrento to Naples. I really need to know how long this takes??

Travelling time would be very roughly 45 minutes from Napoli to Sorrento or Capri, and 25 minutes between Sorrento and Capri.
However, a more important factor is the boat schedule. They are not all run by the same company and do not leave at fixed intervals.
I can't see the point myself in going from Capri via Sorrento. Sorrento is a resort where people stay in order to visit nearby beauty spots, but there's little reason to visit Sorrento itself. It's nowhere near as interesting as Capri, and a visit to both will reduce the time available on Capri. If you've seen all you want to see of Capri, why not go back to Napoli and look around there?

Often the hydrafoil can stopped if the winds get too high. You can get stuck on the Capri side and cannot get back to Naples easily.

In my case, the hydrafoil service stopped when I was at Capri and I had to take a normal ferry to Naples. It wasn't a fun ride back to Naples, since the wind was very strong.

If it's a windy day, don't bother.

The time was in July I think. It wasn't August, since I wasn't working there. But it was a nice warm day~the wind was starting to blow but it wasn't raining.

On the way to Capri, the hydrofoils had to drop off of their planes and take them as normal boats. Since they're not really built for lots of waves, they float like a big chunk of foam. Most of the people inside of the boat started to have seasick and the boat people were passing sick bags to everyone. It wasn't a pleasant start of the day.

So, if I have as information about the hydrofoils, make sure it's not a windy day.
