Sorry . I would like to know where I can get the hydrofoil/ferry shedules for Naples to Capri Thanks

There are two or three companies running ferries out of the harbour by the big castle. So, if you buy a round trip ticket, be sure you line up for the right ship. And, if you are going to wait for the last ship back, be sure that the line-up isn't going to be too long.

And oh yeah, my wife says - don't go on a choppy day. Not sure what's worse... the boat slapping the waves outbound, or the hydrofoil diving and surging on the return. The path was diagonal to the waves, making for an interesting rocking motion.

Watch the tide table. We were told that the cave tour was only during low tide.

You don't have to worry about schedules. Just go to Molo Beverello (and don't let the taxi driver take you to Mergallina) and get the next boat out. They run regularly.

MD's wife was correct. The last time we went to Ischia, the seas were so rough a 40 minute trip took an hour. We were bounced all over.

The currents around the Bay of Naples are notorious for causing boats of all kinds to rock about, inducing seasickness in even the most experienced sailor. And although the sea may look smooth as glass to you, once on the boat you may still experience a brutal crossing.

How late in the season do these run? I was planning to take a bus from Naples to Sorrento/Capri in early Oct, would they still be running? Also what is the cost?

Mauld, what do you mean a bus from Naples to Sorrento? There are trains and hydrofoils. Why would you want to take a bus? The boats run all year to Sorrento and Capri. They don't run from Naples to Positano all year. October is still tourist season for that area. November things start slowing down. People live on Capri all year round. The boats are the only way to get there. The same for Ischia and Proceda.
