hvar transportation questions......

1)we are taking a ferry from dubrovnik to stari grad. our hotel is in hvar town. are there taxi's at the ferry port? approximate fare? or,should we ask the hotel if they can arrange transportation? 2)is there regular bus service from hvar town to starigrad (un-related to the first question)?

I will be going to Hvar in September and taking the ferry from Split. All the information I have read so far indicates buses are available at the Stari Grad ferry terminal that go to Hvar Town, I believe it is about a 20 minute bus ride. I have not researched taxi information but would venture to guess that since there are buses available there would most likely be taxis as well.

Enjoy your trip! 8-)

thank you. can anyone confirm busses &/or taxi's?

The busses are timed to run when the ferries arrive. I don't know anything about taxis.

However, check to see if you can arrive in Hvar Town instead. If so, that will make things easier. But, if not, the bus will get you there :)

The taxis from Starigrad to hvar town are ridiculously expensive. Take the bus!

How did you book your ferry from Dubrovnik to Stari Grad? We are going to stay 2 nights in Dubrovnik and 5 nights in Hvar and are trying to figure out the fastest way to get from Dubrovnik to Hvar...

7094, the peeps on this board said that in june we do not need to book in advance. i'll probably book a day or two in advance while in dubrovnik. the peeps also say that bus + ferry is a little faster. we will (most likely) do the ferry for ease (no transfers), and supposed beautiful scenery. also, i don't relish the idea of a 2 1/2 hour bus ride.........

Bodhijack-

Just curious, what dates will you be in Croatia? Sounds like we might be hitting some of the same places around the same time as you. We fly into Dubrovnik June 4, and depart from Split on June 16.
