Italians being probably the greatest hypochondriacs on earth, they'll most likely embrace every opportunity to rush around and make sure your husband gets exactly what he feels comfortable with, even if they have to raid the pig stall for his niblets. They'll also recommend doctors and pharmacists for him to visit to deal with his phobias.

My Dad is the same as OP's husband, only I think worse. We have always had to cater to him and where he would eat and what he would eat all the time. But my Mother would NEVER think of going to Europe with him. It would be no vacation for her. It's hard enough in the states.
