HPI Visa

Hi guys,

I know this isn't exactly the right forum for this topic, but does anyone have experience with obtaining the UK's HPI Visa? If so, will you please message me? I have lots of questions for my recent college graduate.

Thank you!

Hi I sent you a message back in the private message folder but not sure if it worked. Let me know!

I have a great-niece who considered this but ended up not looking very hard for a job in the U.K. and not going forward with the application.

She graduated from a qualifying university plus a masters (but not PhD), but the all-in visa costs were just too much. She would have needed about 5,000 pounds (fees, healthcare, evidence of financial support) before she even started looking for housing near the job and whatever upfront costs that might have entailed. Having graduated with no debt, we knew she'd been living "lean," so we offered $7500 if she landed a job. Being very independent, she was reluctant to accept the help. Then she looked into the U.K. income tax implications and figured it might be a great life experience but a zero-sum financial experience. She ended up taking a "perfect" (her word) job at Yale, so no tears.

Hi Jean, My daughter applied and had her visa in hand in 48 hours! Super simple. That was nice you offered help to your niece, but the perfect job a Yale sounds .... perfect! :)

Irice, I think if my great-niece had already been offered a U.K. job contract and knew the compensation package, she would have been more confident/enthusiastic in pursuing the idea, and it could have turned out differently. But with impeccable timing, Yale called, and she jumped!
