I just now noted Flanneruk's ignorant cheap shot at Portland Oregon.

Obviously he has never been there or, if he has, he did not see anything.

Nothing anywhere compares with the International Rose Test Garden when it comes to roses.

And yes I have been to Kew Gardens.

Accepting euro in place of dollars at 1:1 would be extremely profitable to merchants right now. Indeed, British merchants have been setting their prices in pounds to match prices elsewhere in euro for years, which gives them a built-in 50% margin.

A number of chains in the UK accept euros and print £ and € prices on the labels already.
