How to use non direct flights to your advantage

I am wondering what is the cheapest way to get from Northern UK (although any airport considered) to Turkey (Dalaman, Antalya, Bodrum, or Izmir). Is there a way of going via a European hub that would make the journey super cheap? We are looking to fly in the summer of 2013. Best regards to all. Humblechap.

I have heard that there are quite a few low cost flights directly from Northern UK which you should just check on the web. However, I do know that there are frequent flights from Manchester. The only issue may just be the low weight luggage allowance, 15 instead of 20 kilos in addition to lack of free food and beverages on those flights. Among the Turkish airlines check Pegasus, Atlas Jet, Onur Air and Sun Express.

the direct flight should be cheaper than one with a stop-over.

Use http://www.skyscanner.net/ for an overview of prices for all the options

jet2.com and easyjet.com fly between the UK and Turkey

direct flights will be cheaper than indirect

Ryan Air??

I know jet2.com flies direct from Newcastle, Leeds/Bradford, etc into Turkey. And easyJet flies from Liverpool and Manchester. I'd guess they might be as cheap as any.

oh - I didn't see sofarsogood's post. I started posting and was interrupted.

direct flights will be cheaper than indirect

Most airlines that offer indirect flights will charge you less for those flights than a direct flight as otherwise they wouldn't get the business.

You are unlikely to find cheap fares to Turkey during the summer peak. £300 return is typical. Indirect flights are unlikely to save you money.
