Hi Kentucky...some great advise from everyone!
My husband & I leave soon on our first trip to Ireland. While I know our trip for 2 doesn't compare logistically to your trip for 10, I can offer a few suggestions based on our experience so far. First, we found it very helpful to buy guidebooks to educate ourselves on Ireland and help us decide what we want to see & do. Second, I read just about every post on Fodors about Ireland. Fodorites are so generous and the information has been so helpful. Then I asked a few questions myself to help round out our itinerary. Because of Fodors, I've just loved planning this trip (and reading about everyone else's trips). However, for a group of 10, I agree with the others that a travel professional could be very helpful. Whenever we've traveled with a group, we've found it best to have all the big decisions made before hand. And finally, we wanted to stay in a mix of different places...B&Bs, guesthouses, and castles. I found these websites helpful in identifying different properties: www.irelandexpert.com www.hiddenireland.com www.specialplacestostay.com By the way, every property we reserved came highly recommended by Fodorites too! Good luck with your planning! |
