HOW TO SPEND OUR 21DAYS

WE'LL BE VISITING YORK, THE LAKE DISTRICT, WALES & SOUTHERN IRELAND. THE ONLY DECISION I'VE BEEN ABLE TO MAKE IS 2 NIGHTS IN YORK. HOW ELSE SHOULD WE ALLOCATE OUR TIME? THANKS

If you keep shouting, I'd recommend 19 days in Lands End.

Most here like to help but you may be asking too ambiguous of a question. No idea as to age group, likes, dislikes, budget, etc. Plus as noted above, you were "SHOUTING". Have you done any research as to determine what you are interested in?

So sorry, didn't realize I was "shouting." We are seniors, love hiking, nature, more than cities. I guess my real question is how much time to spend in Ireland. We will arrive by ferry from Wales into Dun Laoghaire. First we'll see Powerscourt Gardens and then go on to Glendalough. Is it possible to do both of these things and overnight in Cashel? I think from we'd like to see Waterford, Kinsale, Mizen Head, Beara Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, Dingle, and as far north as Doolin. We depart from Shannon. Have I missed anything good? How long will all of this take?
Thanks for your kindness, MGB.

Hi again, we really have not been to some of the cities you mention. You may want to check out Rick Steves book on Ireland. He is good about telling you how many days you need for a location (very opinionated which helps you can either agree or disagree but you know what you are getting.) He will also explain if there are walking tours in an area, accomodations (mostly very budget up to 3*). He is geared to independent travel with lots of tips on the stops, including where to do laundry and keeping luggage at a minimum.
This should send it back closer to the top.
If you still do not get more advice, limit a posting question that appears to the areas of Great Britain that you are traveling to not just "21 days" which could be anywhere in Europe.

Sandy4, try these two websites for northern Wales:

http://www.bodnantgarden.co.uk/

http://www.eryri-npa.co.uk/base/e_800.html

We were in Wales in March (before the gardens opened) but we can vouch for the beauty of Snowdonia National Park.

We stayed at the following B&B and would highly recommend it.

http://aberconwy-house.co.uk/

Can't help with Ireland. Enjoy your holidays.
