How to rent town hall in Siena for wedding?
We are planning on getting married in Siena, Italy in September. I've checked with a couple of wedding planners, and they charge exorbitant fees - 1900 euro to rent the town hall for a civil ceremony, and 1800 euro for the wedding planner! We only have 8 guests, so we are considering doing the planning ourselves. Does anyone know how to get in touch with the town hall at Siena?
Thanks,
Shanna

Have you had a look at some of the threads about people getting married in Italy. There is a significant amount of paperwork and to be filled out, translated, notarized and approved by the local authorities in advance.
I would try to get a sense of that - and if you are equipped to do what needs to be done to have a legal wedding. As for the Siena town hall - you can obviously find that easily in google and send them emails.

While wedding planners charge high fees, everything has to be done in Italian, and unless you are fluent in spoken and written Italian and familiar with red tape, you will need the service of an interpreter for every contact with the authorities, in the process leading up to your marriage and on the day itself.

Thanks for the replies! I've read through all the previous threads about getting married in Italy, and I've done a lot of research on the legal requirements. I think we may just get married in the US and have a symbolic ceremony in Italy.
