How to rent a villa ?
Could someone suggest how and where to rent a villa in Tuscany? When is the best time in 2004 to go there and what area or town in Tuscany is the best?
Thanks

For a first-time renter - - and maybe for an nth-time renter - - I would recommend going through a company with a good and reliable reputation. I have used these three, and no regrets with any of them:
www.domani-usa.com
www.rentvillas.com
and
www.regencyintapts.com
www.theparkercompany.com also has a high reputation - - for delivering very good properties (perhaps at very high prices).
Second, get as much specific RECENT info as you can get - - and there might be no better source for info than www.slowtrav.com
I have only rented once in Tuscany - - and while we were pleased with the property (specifically, the price and the features; there were 14 of us), I would probably not recommend its location. In Ambra, near Bucine, east of Siena -- too far away and too far south for most people's tastes.
Best wishes,

I have rented 5 different villas from The Parker Company and they were all priced right and very comfortable. In Tuscany, I found that the area around Monteriggione is very central to some great places like Siena, Chianti region, San Gimignano, etc.
We also loved the area around Montepulciano and traveled around to Pienza, Perugia, Orvieto, etc.
Good luck.

We are renting this month on Lake Maggiore through www.italianvillas.com. also used them in 2000 for wonderful villa outside of Siena. Although it is not available this time, one thing that we appreciated in Siena location was that they can arrange for a chef to come cook dinner at the villa. It was so convenient and delicious on the night we arrived in Siena that we did it a second time while we were there.

A third vote for www.slowtrav.com -- great reviews and helpful comments. I've found the Parker Co. properties to be very high-priced -- a search on the can often turn them up at much lower prices.

Hi everyone, this may be a very old post, but it can be useful to someone else, i would suggest you to try http://www.cuendet.com, it's the company i work for and they offer more than 1000 villas in Tuscany and all over Italy!
feel free to drop me aline if you ahve any ideas on how to improve the site and also simply if you like it or not!
