How to pronounce Cycladic?
 

I'd like to say it correctly next week when I tell my coworkers I just booked a trip to the Cycladic Islands!

Cycladic (adjective) relating to the Cyclades islands<BR> <BR> s long i kladdic accent on the 2nd syllable (That is 1st or preferred pronunciation.)<BR> Now go enjoy yourself!!!

But in Greece they pronounce it with a hard "C" -- there used to be a ferry to those islands called the Kyklades (key-klah-dees).

I have heard it always pronounce by Greeks as Key-klath-eez. By English-speaking people as Sick-la-deez.

Sorry Marilyn I misunderstood---I didn't even think that her co-workers were Greek. We, Americans just expect her to be e-mailing from USA. OOPS!!<BR> Yes, Diana go for the Greek pronunciation!!
