How to Place Collect International Phone Calls

I've tried to find the answer to this, but have had no luck! Could someone give me the sequence of numbers I would call if I'm in London and need to place a collect call to the States? The business I would be calling has said to use the AT&T International Operator to place the collect call. So, how do I reach the AT&T Int'l operator? Many thanks for any help you can give!

I cannot answer your question for UK, but my experience in Italy was that it was so cheap to pay for a call to North America with a phone card (5 cents/minute) that I gave up trying to figure out the way to make a collect call. If the 10 minutes spent trying to reach the correct operator had been spent actually talking to the US, it would only have cost 50 cents!

P.S. Koryn, I hope you get a better answer to your question; I only posted to point out another option.

Your ATT calling card will have the instructions on it. You need an ATT access number - which you get before leaving the States. There is a collect number you can call from overseas for assistance (not an 800 number) which should be on your card too.

As I remember (when I still used mine) you dial the number you want, and then you are prompted to enter the calling card number or make it a collect call. But I really agree w/ kayd - a phone card will cost you pennies per minute.
