How to go up Schafberg Mountain when railway is closed
Hello everyone.
I apologise in advance if this question has already been answered, but I've just spent some time looking and couldn't find an answer!
I will be in St Wolfgang for 2 nights in 01 April 2018 to 03 April 2018 (we won't have a car) and wanted to know if it was possible to catch a form of public transport up Schafberg Mountain (train or bus). The Schafberg railway is closed for the Winter and re-opens in late April. I'm not particularly looking to go all the way up, but just some way up to marvel at the views. Is there a bus that goes up the mountain? If so, does anyone know the bus details?
I've been to the http://schafbergbahn.at and http://fahrplan.oebb.at websites to look for routes but I can only find limited information.
I'm also entertaining the option of going up the Zwolferhorn using the cable car IF Schafberg is not an possible, but I thought I'd check with the knowledgable and friendly folk at Fodors first.
Thank you all in advance.
