If you mean the Leaning Tower of Pisa, it's not in Florence, it's in Pisa. This is around 55 miles from Florence, or about an hour and a half by road. You can catch a train.

What other advice do you need.? Hotels? Flights? Transport?

You can check train schedules at www.trenitalia.com

High speed train from Rome to Florence takes 90min, with departures once or twice every hour. Seat reservations are required - you can buy tickets when you get to Rome.

Regional trains from Florence to Pisa also take about an hour, or slightly more. Cost is less than 10 euros. No seat reservations - you just buy a ticket at the kiosk in the Florence train station & validate it in a yellow box BEFORE you board the train.

If you want to ascend the tower you should reserved a timed entry in advance - not sure the website, but a quick google search should work. If you show up an expect to get a ticket on the spot you could have a several hour wait, or be shut out totally.

You don't need a ticket to view the tower and take those funny pictures holding it up.

It's about a 20-30min walk from the main Pisa train station to the tower. You can also take a 1euro city bus that'll drop you off right near the tower. There's also a train station called Pisa San Rosore that is close to the tower. Some but not all of the Florence trains stop there.

Gosh! Who has obliterated all those guidebooks that used to be out there until fairly recently?
