How to get in touch with Alessandro Palace?
I've seen great reviews about the Alessandro Palace at many websites, so I booked them at their website ( www.hostelsalessandro.com ).
However, when I tried to call them with my international phonecard, it said the number was invalid. I tried re-dialing it several times, so it definitely wasn't me. Then I tried to e-mail them, and apparently their domain name doesn't exist. The weirdest part was when I checked my credit card. For some reason the down payment that the reservation website requested was charged to "WP-THE EUROPEAN HO BERLIN." Berlin?! I'm going to Rome! This scares the heck out of me, frankly. How can I confirm my reservations if I can't call or e-mail them? Did I even make reservations at the right place? All the info is invalid, so I'm guessing not. I'm going to try faxing them when Kinko's opens. If I can't call and talk to an employee, how will I guarantee that I have a bed when I arrive in Rome? I've been so worried about this all day and I'm considering getting a new credit card to avoid any more charges. What should I do? |
Mmmm...that's strange. So the email you used was [email protected], right. If you used Hotmail it may have been blocked as spam so try again or use an Outlook account. Or you could try faxing them on +39/06-49380534
Other email addresses you could try as per their website are: General information, individual reservations (less than 8 people), cancellation/modification in reservation: info@hostelsalessandro. Group reservations & further enquiries: office@hostelsalessandro. Good luck. |
Have you phoned other places in Italy successfully with that card? I would be more inclined to think it's a problem with their card.
As for your credit card and reservation, Hostel Alessandro Palace uses the Gomio.com booking engine, so it makes sense that your credit card does not say Hostel Alessandro Palace on it, because Gomio has a network of hostels. As for the failed email, who knows. I am sure Hostel Alessandro Palace is still around, as Hostelworld and other engines have it.. |
FAX seems to get a response quicker.
We have booked at places on a bit of a wing and a prayer as some places are not very good a confirmations. We once drove two days down to Sicily without knowing for sure if they knew we were coming......as it ended they did know we were coming and it was one of the most memorable weeks. |
Did you dial 011? Were you calling during Italian business hours?
