How to get from Sienna to Florence.

We will be leaving a car in Sienna and heading to Florence for a few days before heading back to the US. Does any one have experiece with taxi service(how expensive) or the bus.?Is bus service convenient?
Thanks

Bus service is extremely convenient and is only about an hour and 15 minute ride. No need to spend the extra money on a car service.

Definitely recommend taking the bus to Florence. Much more affordable than a taxi. Buses leave Piazza Gramsci in Siena every 30 minutes. The bus station in Florence is parallel to Santa Maria Novella train station so it is easy to find a taxi from there to your hotel.

Bailey - You can find timetables for the Florence-Siena Express bus service on:

Hope this helps ...

I took the bus from Siena to Florence and it was a nice ride, easy to do, and cheap! I'm planning to do a day trip to Siena from Florence in May and will take the bus again.

Heartily agree - bus is the way to go. Cheap and convenient. Try to catch an express unless you want a lot of stops on the way. Express is quick.
