How to get from Port Maillot bus station to the 9th

My friend is coming into the Port Maillot bus station from Mastreich. What is the best way to get to the 9th?

MmePerdu Mar 6th, 2016 12:54 PM

If not by taxi, then the best would depend on the exact location in the 9th.

112 rue montmartre

ratp.fr will give you all ne necessary info.
Porte Maillot is a hub of metro and RER B so no prob.
Btw, you meant Maastricht ?

MmePerdu Mar 6th, 2016 01:30 PM

Looks like RER C (Neuilly–Porte Maillot) 1 stop to Pereire – Levallois. Change to the Metro to Sentier.

The rapt site says to take a bus for the first leg, but I think I'd do the above.

By the way, it may also depend on if there's luggage. If so, a taxi, budget allowing, will be easier.

Hi Tpay

ratp.fr is your friend

I was finding the ratp site uncooperative when I asked for the Metro/RER map. And I wasn't fond of the solution it gave me for the trip. But certainly try it and see what you find. For those not familiar with the bus system, I find the Metro easier to negotiate. After a lifetime of visits I'm now using buses more but still find them a challenge in some ways.

Great info---thanks.

Just off the top of my head, I would say to take metro line 1 from Porte Maillot to Concorde and then change to metro line 8 from Concorde to Grands Boulevards. It means walking a bit more than taking the metro to Sentier, but believe me, the RER C from Porte Maillot is no picnic -- and it is not nearly as frequent as the metro.

That does sound better, although still no word on the luggage situation. I'd give up a meal for a taxi ride if there's more than a little. One track mind here.

Well, generally people coming in from Beauvais airport to Porte Maillot don't have all that much luggage due to the restrictions of the low cost carriers.

And if it is the bus route from Maastricht, people who take the bus are generally not overloaded either.

MmePerdu Mar 6th, 2016 10:19 PM

Always a good thing.

Very little luggage---carry on & tote bag or backpack. College students.
The Metro does sound a bit easier.
BTW, any idea of what a cab would cost?

The G7 taxi site has an estimated fare calculator. The time of day and the day of the week (if Sunday or holiday) can have a significant effect on the fare.
