How to get from Nice to St.Jean cap Ferrat?

What is the best way to get from Nice to St. Jean Cap Ferrat? Is there a local train that stops at those small Riviera towns? I would rather use a train, or a bus than a taxi (unless it is more economical for a family of three).

Where do you want to go on St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat? I believe you can take a bus from Nice, but I don't know whether it goes around the entire peninsula.

We are staying in Cap Ferrat in a hotel on ave Centrale, and arrive to Nice from Chamonix by train.

I stayed in hotel riviera in st jean cap ferrat in 1998 and the train ran right across the street from the hotel, trust me we heard it, so I assume you should be able to take the train from Nice.

There is no train service to St.Jean Cap Ferrat. Cap Ferrat is of course a peninsula. The really nice village of St.Jean Cap Ferrat is rather far out on the peninsula. The base of the peninsula is where Villefranche Sur Mer and Beaulieu Sur Mer and Cap Ferrat all converge and is on the Bass Corniche road. The closest train station is Beaulieu and is a 20 minute walk along a paved walkway along the sea to the village of S.J.C.F. Villefranche is much farther away and involves a very steep hill climb. If you stay at the base of the cape you could take the bus from nice or a taxi. If you are staying out at the village on the sea you will find the buses from Nice few and far between and would pretty much want to use a taxi. It's a little inconvenient to get there but if you are like me and like to walk a lot; it is well worth it. I routinely walk between Villefranche, Beaulieu and S.J.C.F.
