How to get from Glasgow/Edinburgh to Oslo?

Hi,
Does anyone know of an economical way to get to Oslo from Glasgow or Edinburgh?
So far the only option I have found is about GBP70 to fly from Glasgow to Oslo.
Would like to know if its possible to go by rail or anything.. thanks
The problem about going by rail is that there's this great big stretch of water, called the North Sea, in the way.

British Rail are working on laying tracks on it but haven't quite worked out the method.

£70 is a bloody good price. Grab it with both hands.

If the train is too expensive maybe look into hiring a car or hitchhiking.

Cars have a bit of an issue with the sea too.

Believe me, that's a good price.

The most economical way to get to Oslo from Scotland is to fly with Ryanair (www.ryanair.com). A pleasant way would be to travel to Newcastle from Edinburgh/Glasgow by train (a couple of hours) and to get the ferry to Bergen, Norway. One of the World's best railway jorneys is from Bergen to Oslo.

If would like any further info, please do not hesitate to contact me. I have been to Scotland and Norway many times. Regards, Anthony, Nottingham, England.

Hi,

Ryanair fly from Glasgow Prestwick to Oslo Torp. (www.ryanair.com) Occasionally you might get a cheap fare but as Sheila has mentioned £70 is very good ( it would be omre expensive to fly to the Scottish islands or down to London on BA or Bmi.
I'd grab the £70 fare and have a grat time.

She's sharp as a tack. Can't slip one past that Sheila...no,no,no!

Why, thank you kind sir:)

FWIW there are lots of direct flights out of Aberdeen, but the prices will be much higher than the one quoted.

The ferry price from Newcastle will be a minimum of £70 and a maximum of £110 depending on date
