I am asking a similar question, though a bit different as my flight lands at 6:30 am and I need to catch the train to Beaune from Gard du Nord .... though it is a bit confusing since I read something that some trains lead from Gare de Lyon which is 4 miles away ...
I have hand luggage only. I am thinking about having a driver waiting for me to take me there, yet also curious how I would even begin to find the train in such a large station ...

I went to the information desk at Gare de Lyon, Montparnasse, and Victoria Station to get some assistance with trains.
I have never lived where there were trains and I did research on which trains to get to where, but I wanted some reassurance that I was on the "right track", so to speak. No pun intended. I got better as time passed.
When in doubt, ask.

There many ways to do this. Depending on whom you ask, you would get different answers.
Gare du Nord would be a more round about way if your destination is Beuane. CDG to Gare to Lyon is about 20 miles, not 4 miles. Look at the map. Gare du Nord is for trains due N or NE directions (such as Belgium, Amiens, Lille, etc). For south bound fast TGV trains, you need to get to Gare de Lyon.
The way you described:
CDG -> Gare du Nord (using RER) -> Gare de Lyon (in Paris by Metros) -> Dijon (on TGV) -> Beaune (using TER local train.)
The more straight forward way is:
CDG -> Gare de Lyon (in Paris using a taxi or Le Bus Direct Line #4 http://www.parisaeroport.fr/en/passe...blic-transport) -> Dijon (on TGV) -> Beaune (on TER). You don't need a driver to wait for you if you know how to use a taxi from the official taxi stands. CDG to Paris taxi is fxied price. The only correct taxi price for you from CDG to Paris to Gare to Lyon is 50EU. Verify this with the driver before he grabs your bag in a remote chance you are about to ride a rogue taxi. http://www.parisaeroport.fr/en/passe...paris-cdg-taxi. When he flips the meter, it should immediately say 50EU and stays that way until you get to Gare de Lyon.
You can stay on RER train one stop further down the line to Chatelet Les-Halles station then a metro to Gare de Lyon, but the Chatelet Les-Halles is a ginormous station to attempt to change a train.

If a direct train from CDG is not a suitable option (in my opinion, that would be any wait of more than 2 hours to get a train at CDG), you can get to Gare du Nord on the RER B in 30 minutes and transfer there to the RER D (same platform -- there is a blue line along the edge of the RER B platform and a green line along the RER D platform -- matching the colors on the maps). It takes about 6 minutes to get from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon. You can add another 5 minutes of waiting time.
It's your decision.
