How to get discount overnight train tickets from Munich to Paris?

Just for closure....there IS a non-stop overnight train from Munich to Paris. I booked the journey yesterday for a little under $800 USD for a deluxe double sleeper. At that price, I seriously considered the idea from Logos999. My husband, however, said that it was a unique experience we would probably do only once in our lives. There were cheaper options for the sleeper cars (Economy double $460 USD), but all were sold out, according to the Bahn customer service. Traveling is not cheap, but can't wait for our trip.
