Dress Code San Sebastian restaurants
My husband and I are traveling to San Sebastian next month and are considering spending the money to have a really nice dinner at Arzak or Akelarre (or if anyone has any other recommendations). What is the dress code at these restaurants? I don't want to make my husband pack a suit jacket if he doesn't have to. Would khaki pants and a nice polo or button-down shirt be appropriate?
Thanks for your help!

At Arzak, they want you to feel comfortable. No problem with khaki pants and polo shirt. I've been there twice (1996 and 2005), never to be forgotten. Several diners in very casual clothing. Ranked among the ten best restaurants in the world every year for some twenty years.
The views at Akelarre are spectacular.

Hey C,
>I don't want to make my husband pack a suit jacket if he doesn't have to.<
One doesn't pack a jacket. One wears a blazer in lieu of packing a sweater.
If DH should find that he is terribly overdressed in a blazer and khakis, he can always take the blazer off.
Enjoy your visit.

The dress code in all of the top rated restaurants in the Basque country are the same as there are in every other restaurant, casual is fine, just forget about wearing shorts...
There are very few restaurants that will require a jacket (sport coat), and these tend to be private clubs, which Arzak and Akelarre are not.
