How to cop the parisian attitude

A French TV program just talked about this website and I'm sure it should be very interesting for the ones who're going to Paris soon... (or even to France in general)

And especially http://www.cestsoparis.com/attitude-game.php

Coco, I like it. Actually, I have seen the BOF gesture many times. Another gesture I like is those oui et non by the breathing in or out through the mouth. One year I was around my French family for a week, I almost got those right.

Hi Coco, I haven't 'seen' you for a long time and just wanted to say bonjour! Hope all is well with you.
Best wishes.

These are new? At least half of them are used by my kids and their friends (usually sarcastically - imitating people who are passe). Except the pout. I think that's universal among young girls - since I used it as a teen - during the last ice age.

OOps! Thanks mimi I missed Christina's posting I'm afraid.
I thought they were universal and was very surprised to see this is typically French. (I'm glad to see that nytraveler knows them already)

For the ones of you who don't speak French can you understand when a French citizen talks to you like this? (to make sure you'll understand) I doubt now...

GG we'll practise when you come back to check if you remember them well! ;-)

Hi Tiff, I'm never far away you know but we don't answer or read the same threads that's all! Bonne année!

Although the pictures are amusing, the website is a disaster. For example, I clicked on "local secrets" and what were they? Ladurée, Fauchon, and La Maison du Chocolat! Some secret!

Funny, Italians use the same gestures (used in my own Italian family) with some other special ones thrown in!

Great, Coco, and Cigalechanta! Enjoyed the gestures. I'm sure there were some even more rude ones they did not illustrate. I received a few from French Barge skippers I had offended on the canals.

Cigalechanta, I don't understand the reference. "To offend the French, fondle a slice of cheese." Why one would want to fondle cheese, I don't know, but why would it offend?

Crazy is right, Corinne. If I was going to fondle something French, it certainly would not be cheese!
