How to convert Euro to US $

Is there a formula to convert US$ to Euro? In checking prices in Italy, most quote Euro and I would like to know what it is in US$.

Go to a search engine (like http://www.google.com) and enter "currency converter" in the search box.

Hello jeanprouty, I don't keep up on day to day conversions. I just mentally figure that $1.25US will buy $1.00Euro. Maybe others will suggest to figure that $1.30US will buy $1.00Euro. That might be a bit high though. But I always budget high on expenses...so I am not shocked at the end results. Best wishes.

Divide Euros amount by 4, multiply times 5 - (or divide by four, add a fourth). You'll be just a tad high.

Example:

Euros 12.- divide by 4 = 3, times 5 = 15. Today's official rate says 14.46, probably not the rate you and I could get, so it works close enough.

I use one of the websites for currency conversion and make a little chart for myself to refer to (i.e. 100 USD = xx euro, 150 USD = xx euro, etc.) Especially for pricing hotel rooms from home that's close enough for me.
