How's the weather in September in the Dordogne?
Greetings,
How is the weather in the Dordogne in September and is the tourist traffic down? We typically travel in May, but family needs require a later time--is September--early or late--or even early October a good option? Thanks for filling me in.

Gee- I thought you were going in April.Now September, eh? September is glorious, warm and sunny and perfect. You can still swim and still enjoy fires in the evening. Leaving myself this Sunday for a few weeks and looking forard to it - my favorite time to be in the Dordogne.

No we don't know when we are going just yet, but trying to find a time we can get to France this year which will not conflict with the arrival of new grandchildren--so thanks for being patient with us. We have so loved going each May for the last 15 years, but will miss the main event if we do this time.

St.Cirq: We are leaving Mon. for France, staying 3 nights in Loire and then going down to the Dordogne area. Do you have any idea what the weather will be like? Do you have any recommendations on what to see or do while we are in the Dordogne area?
Will there be many tourists the last part of this month?
