How rainy does it have to be to cancel the yeomen's tour of the Tower of London
I have been to London several times, but it was not until I read it on this forum that I realized that the Tower of London yeomen's tour is not available when it rains. Looking at the 10 day forecast, I can see showers for the first two days that we will be there next week. I so want the children who will be with me to get that tour. If it is not sunny on the next day which will be our last, will we miss the tour altogether?

I was there this past summer, it was only a little wet, and the tour was closed. However, they do have an audio tour, which is pretty extensive and interesting. There are also some shows that little kids will like. Remember, even when it rains in London, which it often does... you can still have a good time.

marty - Don't plan your days by the 10 day weather forecasts - they are often completely out! You will have to check the weather forecasts the night before to get a fairly accurate idea of what it's going to be like. For the past few weeks the weather has been all over the place - rain / sun / cold / mild / gloomy / bright..... it seems to change daily!<BR>

I think that it does not take much rain to cancel the tour. However, when we were there this past June, they did conduct the tour in a slight drizzle/mist. It seemed as though we spent extra time in the chapel there, however, when the rain picked up a bit.

When we were there in 1997, it was raining when we started our tour--just drizzling--but the guide wouldn't let anyone use their umbrellas. When the rain started more heavily, he said we would have to stop and try again later. The rain did stop about an hour later and we got to take our tour. I hope this is helpful.
