How much will the train ticket cost?
Hello everyone, I have done the research and yes, we can catch a train from Genoa to Avignon, but the www.bahn.de won't tell me how much the ticket will cost.It doesn't matter that much, I'm just curious. If anyone knows the approximate cost, I'd be grateful. We will be catching the train on 2nd June 2008 and we'll book 1st class for this trip as it's quite a long train ride. Thanks in advance, Cathie

In addition to Ira´s post, the border station is Ventimiglia (SNCF may require the French spelling Vintimille). So by adding the ticket prices on trenitalia to Ventimiglia and on SNCF from Ventimiglia to Avignon you will get the cost.

First go to www.bahn.de to get timetables for the whole route. Enter Genova as your departure point and Avignon TGV as your arrival point. After you get summary timetables, click on "Details for all" to see the connecting points.
Then go to the Trenitalia and SNCF sites to price each leg. |
Thanks everyone, especially to Tim whose instructions worked perfectly!!
