How much to tip justairports driver

Two of us will be going to London in December and we plan to use justairports.com for transportation to Heathrow. The fare is estimated to be 25 GBP. What is an appropriate tip?

25 Pounds is about $48. While tipping is not quite the thing it is in the U.S. we have always given the driver about 15%.

We've often paid 25 pounds for a car service to our flat in London from Heathrow and usually give the guy a total of 30 pounds. While that is generous (20%) we seem to always get a nice driver who chats with us along the route, takes our luggage to the car, and helps us out with it.

Though physically allergic to tipping, I'd always round £25 to £30 for a decent cab driver (or posh barber).

If I were feeling a bit skint and had £25 in notes and £3 or £4 in coins, I might just tip a bit less - but I'd be left wondering why I'd bothered when it'd've been a lot easier just to add the extra fiver.

PS: I'd also round a £26, £27 or £28 (well, maybe not £28) fare to £30.

As a general rule, proper London cab drivers don't go round with the kind of mental slide-rule that plagues so many service arrangements in the US. Roundings generally (but not meticulously) a bit over 10% are about right. But you really don't need to worry about it.

When I asked, I was told 10% would be just fine, though we've always been a bit more generous because the drivers have been fantastic - prompt, courteous, take care of the bags, excellent drivers, well maintained vehicles.
