How much tip should Dennis Tito leave?

I've never actually left one of these "just-for-fun" messages to start a thread, but reading the paper, it appears that Dennis Tito is enjoying his vacation "over Europe" (and everywhere else) very much. How much will he/should he tip his hosts and "guide"? It seems to me that he is a generous guy. Will he exceed 20%?

Now here's a new side career for me to aspire to! (wink...)

Best wishes,

Rex
You'd think for $12MIL he'd have gotten a larger room...near a metro stop, ATM, cafes, bars, restaurants, and within walking distance to major sites. Did that rate include VAT & breakfast?
j.

Good one!
I heard it was $20 million. Pity the new Fodor pins weren't out yet. He could have taken one.

Bet you he had to pack light.

He probably did not need good walking shoes, all that floating around.

NO idea how much he should leave for a tip. But I heard he must pay for, if he should damage something! ;-)
I wonder whether he gets nice food like a Kir (Royal) from time to time and a nice pain au chocolat for breakfast!

Dennis need not worry. Space was declared a gratuity-free zone by international treaty in 1979. And yes, that covers the maids too.

Ursula May 1st, 2001 07:45 AM

.. what, he has a maid?

Rick May 1st, 2001 07:53 AM

I wonder if he heeded Marge's warning and took his own food. I hear the cosmonauts gte lousy chow.

Santa Chiara May 1st, 2001 07:56 AM

So, can they recline their seats, or does it disturb the other cosmonauts?

Maybe servizio é incluso?

Aren't all the meals prix fix?

mark May 1st, 2001 08:20 AM

At least his money belt will be very secure in that one-piece microfiber climate response space suit.

Ursula May 1st, 2001 09:08 AM

Mark: I bet he had to pay in advance, well I am even quite sure. What should he need a money-belt for? Or do you think it's a good shopping area up there? ;-) Any suggestions?
Rex
If you are going to start doing just for fun messages to start a thread show a little originality for Petes sake.
The highly successful and well liked thread >How Much Should I Tip The Pilot< has just about completed its run on this board with tons of responses.

Boris

What they didn't tell him is that the $20 million was for the trip up. What if the charter operator goes under while he's away from home? It's happened to us, it could happen to him.

Perhaps he'll need a float loan?
