How much time for Aveiro?
We plan on stopping by Aveiro in Portugal and were wondering if anyone could give us an idea of how much time to allow to see the city? We weren't planning on spending the night, but just a tour to get a feel of the place. Are we making a mistake by not wanting to stay longer?
Thanks!

Aveiro is such a great city & has so much to offer, it would be great if you could spend the night.
The Rossio on the central canal, where you'll find "moleiros", the colorful gondola-style boats.
The Mercado do Peixe (fish market), full of cafes by day & bars for nightlife.
Farol da Barra, the 3rd tallest lighthouse in the world, on Barra beach.
Costa Nova, with its boardwark & white-stripe houses painted in bright colors.
The archttecture, art nouveaux buildings, azulejos (tiles).
Also, of course, the churches, museums, etc. And shopping in the central part can easily rival Lisbon.
The Arcada Hotel has a good location if you do decide to overnight...

Thanks for the info. I'm torn as to what to do. We are just taking a long weekend (4 or 5 days) over the puente next week. We've already explored Lisbon and Southern Portugal at length, so this our first trip to Northern Portugal.
I was planning on spending our Friday night in Porto, thinking that the dining/nightlife options might be better there than Aveiro?
