How much for a taxi from Rome station to Trastavere?

I would get a limo from the airport - what is the best way from the station?

hi, jaybee

not too sure what you want - is it a limo from the airport, or from the station, and if so, do you mean termini or another one?

if you are coming into Fiumicino [aka leonardo da vinci] then i believe that there is a local train takes you straight into trastevere for about 5E.

there is also a direct service into termnini, but that would be a bit of a waste of time, in your case.

If you want a limo to your hotel/apartment, then there a number recommmended on this forum. Just use the search function.

regards, ann

Hi Jaybee - A limo from the airport to Trastevere should be about € 40.

Alternatively there are trains every 15 mins from FCO direct to Trastevere station (- € 6 approx.; 25 mins journey).

If you wish to book a limo, the following have been recommended here:

www.limoservicerome.com
www.airportshuttle.it

Hope this helps ...

sorry - my question was ambiguous.

I am arriving by train from Naples. How much would a taxi cost to my apartment in Trastevere. The agency will send a limo for 50 euro (4 people). That seems expensive.

Will a taxi try to overcharge?

Taxi will be about 10 Euros base fare, + 1 Euro/large bag. There is a steady queue of legit taxis at Termini so you should have no problem at all.

The licensed taxis in Rome are all off-white in color, and will have a 4 digit phone # of the taxi co on the side in large letters (33-55 is one of them), but there are several others - all are fine.

All taxis will hold 4 passengers. If you have a lot of luggage you can choose one of the larger taxis. Opel & VW + other both sell station wagons with a cargo area large enough to hold more luggage than a typical sedan. About 1 in 5 taxis will be the larger kind (wagon or mini-mini-van), so simply let others in the queue pass you by if you feel you need a larger taxi.
